Paulstown Allotment Association .

All about us :

Paulstown Allotment Association was formed in May 2009. It began when Ruben Cope asked people in the community would they be interested in forming an Allotment Association. The first meeting was held in the village pub ! With land available in the grounds of Shankhill Castle, Paulstown and interested parties, Paulstown Allotment was formed.
With the land set out into plots and eager fingers ready to work the soil Paulstown Allotment Association was officially opened by the then minister for food Trevor Sergent. The association is growing from strength to strength. From novices to experienced gardeners, anyone can own an allotment and are more than welcome to join the association. At the moment the association are in the process of putting in facilities.
A shed is available where members can keep there implements. The shed was kindly sponsored by Walsh’s hardware, Bagnelstown. John Walsh had given the members 10% discount cards for the month of March. He is willing to offer his support to the association and this is much appreciated. Hennesey’s Garden center has also offered 10% discount cards, again the association are very grateful. The members meet every two months to discuss developments and talk about issues regarding planting etc.
George a horticulturist, who works full time in Shankhill Castle is available if you have growing, planting or any gardening questions.
For the comfort of members in the near future a toilet shall be installed and we are considering a poly tunnel. We also plan on having hens for eggs in the future.
Paulstown Allotment Association is not only about growing fresh healthy products, it’s also about making new friends !
